John has built a solid reputation throughout the restructuring community, with extensive leadership experience facilitating the operational turnaround of companies, developing strategic alternatives for businesses undergoing significant change, and performing due diligence in connection with reorganization plans. In addition to restructuring, John has significant investment banking experience, specifically in the distressed M+A arena, and has provided a broad range of advisory services supporting transactions valued from $50 million to over $1 billion, including situations involving the sale and purchase of distressed assets. John also has extensive experience advising lenders, creditor committees and individual stakeholders with maximizing recoveries in distressed situations. He has in-depth knowledge of financial services, healthcare, industrials, media and communications, gaming and a number of other industries.
Prior to joining LM+Co, John was a Partner at a large global business consulting practice where he specialized in the provision of Turnaround + Restructuring Advisory services and led the Northeast Regional restructuring practice for the firm. His previous experience also includes acting as Senior Restructuring Advisor with a boutique consulting firm and serving as a Managing Director of an investment bank where he was responsible for investment decisions and risk management of a $1 billion private equity fund focused on investments in the media and communication sectors. Additionally, John sourced both non-distressed and distressed media and communication investment opportunities, provided due diligence and deal structure support.
John earned his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Public Accounting from Pace University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a member of the New York State Bar, American Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Turnaround Management Association.
